The wheels wear out and are no longer usable after 1-2mm are worn off the sides.

Swap wheels

The Go Motorboards manual says if the rear wheel is damaged it is possible to swap the front and rear tires. You should repair or replace the damaged tire as soon as possible and ride at a reduced speed.

Light wear and cracks

K07120 Clear Polyurethane

A quick fix might be to spray paint a worn wheel with a polyurethane coating. I have no idea if this would work:

If the wheel is significantly worn, the M1 sealant below might be a better solution. Paint in general 0.1 to 0.2 mm thick. This would require many coats to achieve 1mm.

  • Clear, flexible film
  • Ideal for sealing electrical and electronic parts
  • Weatherproofs and waterproofs in one application
  • Protects against rust, corrosion and tarnish
  • Exceptional resistance to vegetable oils, mineral oils, greases, chemical fumes
  • Dries in approximately 4 minutes
  • Contains no chlorinated solvents
  • Dielectric strength: 1,523 VPM
  • Equipped with EZ TOUCH® Standard Nozzle

Uses: Wiring installations, printed circuit boards, batteries, chrome and bright work, metals, paper, wood and leather surfaces.

M1 sealant

It is possile to use M-1 sealant from to fill gaps, cracks, and flat spots.

M-1 is a high performance silyl-terminated, solvent free, UV resistant, moisture curing polyether (tri-polymer). The same material as the Motorboard wheels. It is a multi-purpose structural sealant designed for difficult bonding and sealing applications. It bonds aggressively to EPDM, PVC, BUR, coal tar, SBS modified bitumen, granulated APP, asphalt shingles, many types of coated metal, metal flashing details and window glass. For TPO roofing, use TPO Primer together with M1 sealant. Also excellent for underwater or below grade repairs.

M-1 is a non-slumping, self-fixturing mastic that cures with a tough durable rubber bond using atmospheric moisture. M1 develops a high 50-55 Shore-A hardness and also excellent resistance to dirt pick-up. It is used for pool wall-to-deck repairs and more. It has a high resistance to damage from cleaning and ease of dirt removal. M-1 is paintable within 24 hours.

M-1 develops 300 lbs. per square inch of shear strength on metal, masonry and wood. It is capable of 300% elongation and can accommodate dimensional changes in construction materials down to minus 20 degrees F, and is solvent free. It's a tough adhesive capable of bonding steel deck to bar joists and metal sandwich panels to roof and wall purlins.

Contains no solvents or VOC's.

Polyurethan sheet

It appears to be possible to purchase a .145" X 12" X 12" URETHANE/POLYURETHANE SHEET 75D and cutting it into a disk, approximate 4.5" in diameter and 1/2" wide to match the sidewalls of the tire. Then polish down the wheel the the appropriate width and glue on the disk. It would not be necessary to bend the polyurethane sheet because the sidewalls are flat.

Poly Tech Innovations sells an adhesive for bonding the two urethane together, 1/2 pint kit is 20.95.

12mm polyurethane tubing

WEZ-0515-MOPP by Ez Roll Caster

As of January 2009, community members have been unsuccessful at ordering replacement wheels from Roth or its dealers. But as of November 2010, for almost a year and a half, replacement wheels have been available at offered by a seller called "thequadgroup".

The closest match to the required measurements that I have found is the WEZ-0515-MOPP by Ez Roll Caster.

5" x 1 1/2" x hub 1 5/8" x bore 1 3/16" or in metric terms 125mm x 38.1mm x hub 41mm x bore 30mm

It is too narrow by about 5mm, but potentially this can be made up by placing polyurethane tubing over the motor drive shaft cone.
