FAQ: How to replace the 2000X battery pack

Follow these steps carefully to replace the battery pack on your motorboard.

Removing the Existing Battery Pack

1. Remove the 4 deck screws, and lift off the wood deck.

2. Pull the front sheathed end of the brake cable forward about 1/4" and then lift it out of the guide in the plastic battery cover. (This can be pretty tight and difficult to remove. It is possible to replace the battery by working around this wire and not removing it, if it is a problem.)

3. Lift off the flat, black, plastic battery cover.

4. Unplug the white plastic connector from the battery.

5. Lift up the battery and remove it from the battery compartment.

Installing the New Battery Pack

1. Notice the Throttle Wire and the Battery Stop on the bottom of the battery compartment. These will need to be aligned properly in order for the battery to sit down properly in the compartment. The Throttle Wire sits in a groove in the bottom of the battery casing. Also, the Battery Stop sits between the plastic fins on the bottom of the battery casing. When properly installed, there should be about 2.5 inches between the battery and the front of the battery compartment.

2. Replace the plastic battery cover. It will be a tight fit.

If the plastic cover does not sit flat, there could be a wire in the way. Rearrange the wires so that the plastic cover sits flat.

3. Pull the sheathed end of the brake cable forward a little bit to get it to pop into its receiver. Just like on a bicycle.

If the brake cable is difficult to get back in, check the sheath at the LEVER - it might have fallen out of place. Don't force it - you could bend things that are difficult to repair!

4. Replace the wood deck and tighten the 4 screws.

5. You should charge the new battery before you use it.

6. Happy Boarding!
